The Future of Sustainability is Collaboration: A Panel Discussion at the AIA Utah Conference

The built environment plays a crucial role in our efforts to combat climate change. As we strive for a more sustainable future, we must accelerate the transformation of our buildings and infrastructure. The AEC industry has made significant strides in recent years, but there’s still a long way to go.

That’s why Griffin EnerG Consulting is proud to sponsor a panel discussion at the upcoming AIA Utah Conference, September 25 – 26, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah This dynamic panel, co-hosted by AIA UtahUtah ASHRAE, and The Governor’s Office of Energy Development’s Building Talks program, will feature leaders from three prominent organizations at the forefront of sustainable design and construction: the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and the Green Building Initiative (GBI).

Description

Over the last 20 years, architects have seen unprecedented evolution in building performance, building science, technology development, and data-driven design. However, we are still lagging behind the Architecture 2030 goal of making carbon-neutral buildings the standard for new construction.

We have invited leaders from the US Green Building Council (USGBC), International Living Future Institute (ILFI), and Green Building Initiative (GBI) to share trends and innovations in green building practices. These experts will also discuss how architects can work together to achieve our carbon-neutral vision using a common set of definitions and metrics.
